While I was still sick we had a really big wind storm and Grandpa noticed a dead tree in our front yard had blown over. He mentioned it to me and said we would need to get one of our chainsaws repaired to cut it up. He called around and found two different places to repair them because they weren’t the same brand. When we dropped one of them off the counter man told him the repairman was sick with flu and didn’t know when they would be able to get it back to us so figured we might as well try fixing the other one. He was right we still don’t have the first one back but used the other one last Sunday to cut our tree up. It was about thirteen inches around and about twenty-five feet long and dry because it had died several years back. It came just to the edge of our yard and was spanning our ditch. Granda lopped off the limbs and I hauled them back to keep an area clear for him to cut. Then he cut up the trunck in small sections so it wouldn’t be too hard for us to handle. Then he cut up the remaining stump, too.  Usually at this point in times past we would be dragging the limbs to the burn pile and hauling the stump pieces in the wheelbarrow, but Grandpa had a much better plan this time. He hitched his trailer to the truck and pulled up right beside our debris piles and we loaded it up in two loads and hauled it through the yard with no trouble. Wow, he sometimes has some brillant ideas. We were finished in about three or four hours and really had about as much as we could do, but if he hadn’t come up with that idea it would have been days. Love you all an  looking forward to your visit for Easter, Grandma & Grandpa

Hurrah - my blog!!!

I think I’m finally found, thanks, Daughter. You’re never going to believe what all has been going on with us. Actually you probably already know most of it. You knew I clipped the rear end of Dad’s truck and we’ve made it through the awful part where he was trying to figure out how in the world I managed to damage it this way and why in the world I didn’t see it before I drove it all the way home. I felt so bad because it was so nice and shiny and new but I just wanted to bring the TV cabinet down to you and reassure myself that you guys were OK. I was worried about driving down with the trailer on but Dad thought I could do it and I knew he wouldn’t be able to get down for quite a while. Well after we both got over the shock of my having damaged our new vehicle, he had scheduled visits to have the work done an it and I came down sick with a miserable case of the flu just like Neal’s. Two weeks have gone by with me at home and Dad continuing to work as fast as he could plus bringing me home medicine and food. Luckily the medicine the doctor gave Neal worked for me too. I’m still taking medicine and using my Vick’s at night trying to get myself totally cleared up, but it has been a struggle.

The one good thing about this is Jim hasn’t caught it, thank goodness. We been trying to really be careful because I don’t know what in the world he would do if he had it trying to run the business.

Next time I’m about to come for a visit, I might have to listen more carefuly to your warnings about everyone being a bit sick!!

Love and Hugs,

Grandma

Hi everyone,

I read all of your pages and look at the photos and comments without much of a chance to reply. This blog page will be a more leisurely way to keep in touch rather than the phone. Mike kept talking to me but I couldn’t make out his comments, sorry for the frustration.  Are all of the kids still crazy about the Webkins? I use the word kids advisedly. Thanks for explaining to an out of touch Grandma what they are, sounds like a lot of fun for all of you. Also I’m so pleased that G&G W are going to be able to lend a hand for the move. That will really help with everyone’s sanity level.

You can do it!

Hey, mom!  This is your blog I set up for you.  It’s really easy to get started.  Push the “dashboard” button at the top of your screen.  Then all you have to do is click on “Write”.  It will take you to a blue & white writing screen.  Put a title where it says title.  Write some stuff where it says post.  Then hit the “publish” button right below it!

You can do it!  I know you can!
